The caste system has become integrated into their culture, and there is a definite hierarchy that is adhered to and respected; in the family, in the school, in the workplace and in various other circumstances. The father is seen as the head of the family, but Indians will define themselves as members of whichever group they belong to, be it the family group, the religious group or the area in which they reside, rather than as individuals.
Spirituality is very important to Indian culture, which incorporates a variety of religions. Indians are also descended from a variety of races, but all races and religions live together in perfect harmony.
