A visit to the Basilica of Bom Jesus en route is also planned.
    • Spend the evening lazing around at a beach. Beach shacks are a great place to allow the sound of waves to wash the day’s fatigue off what with the lively music, cocktails and food. Some well known shacks are The Pine Shack bordering Calangute and Candolim beaches and Curlie’s Beach Shack further up at Anjuna Beach.

  • Location

Neelams The Grand is a stylish and elegant resort located 40 kms from the Goa airport. The hotel provides free shuttle service to and from the airport for guests.
  • Overview

Calangute is one of the most famous and picturesque beaches in north Goa, and Neelams The Grand resort is located at 10 minute walking distance from the beach. True to its name, the hotel is really grand, spread over 8000 square meters and comprising 4 grand buildings that contain 150 tastefully designed rooms. The beautiful swimming pool in the center of the building is the feature that justifies the ‘Neelams’ part of the name, as Neelam means blue sapphire in Hindi. The pool gives a refreshing view at daytime, while at night the lights on the trees lining the pool come on and reflect magically in the water. The buildings and rooms appear to be newly built, yet the architects have retained the ancient Goan-Portuguese touch – or rather have infused it with modernity. An imposing atrium door and capsule lifts sliding up and down the building impress you right as you are checking in. The rooms, the food and the services are all compatible with any 5-star hotel in Goa.
  • Rooms

Each one of the 150 stylishly furnished rooms sports a 32 inch LCD, minibar, coffee maker and all other amenities that you normally find in a 5-star accommodation. Not all rooms have balconies, so make sure you book a room that has one. Visitors who stayed at the Grand find the rooms to be spacious, well equipped and tastefully decorated. The room service is quick, just in case you want to order something.
  • Restaurant

A fine dining main restaurant sits on an elevated first floor right across from the lobby. An elevator or a few steps take you to a wonderful dining space, with neatly laid out tables and a beautiful fountain in the center. The restaurant serves a wide variety of local and international cuisine including Mexican, Mediterranean, Arabic, Oriental and Japanese food. The meals are not as expensive as you will find them at most of the other high-end resorts of Goa. As Neelams Grand is not as isolated as most of the other resorts, you have more options for eating if you just walk out.
A pool-side bar serves alcoholic drinks and cocktails for those seeking some extra bit of relaxation.
  • Facilities

A gymnasium, a beauty parlor and a yoga center are there as good ways to take care of your physical side. A full service ayurvedic center offers multiple treatments extracted from ancient wisdom. The resort features daily nightly entertainment and arranges boat cruises and sightseeing tours for guests. The hotel also has 4 conference halls with audio-visual equipment for business functions, meetings or training sessions.
On the whole, Neelams Grand may not be the most luxurious properties in Goa, but it is definitely a very stylish one and offers good value for money. It is the perfect place to fall back to and relax when you have had enough fun at the nearby beach.
