Dubai is located in the United Arab Emirates, and is one of the most developed states in the whole of the UAE. It lies on the bottom of the Arabian Peninsula and borders on the Gulf Sea. It is a thriving region with a sprawling desert oasis, an old section that contains some beautiful ancient architecture and a thriving metropolis that is one of the top tourist and business destinations in the world, hence the fact that holidaybirds has some wonderful Dubai Tour Packages on offer.

What to Expect in Dubai

Luxury hotels, magnificent shopping malls, buzzing souks, pristine beaches, and unspoiled nature are all aspects that you can enjoy when you decide to choose one of our Dubai packages.

The People

Islam is the reigning religion in this region and the rules as laid out in the Quran are strictly adhered to. The standard of living is very high and the crossroads of cultures allows for a vibrant city where conducting business is just as important as playing. The locals are extremely hospitable and an invitation to the home of one of the locals should not be turned down, as it will be seen as an insult. Visitors are usually entertained with hot coffee with cardamom, and it is a sign of good manners to enjoy at least two or three cups with your host.

The Culture

It is important to be aware of the various cultural nuances when taking one of the Dubai packages, such as the fact that whilst men will greet by shaking hands, a Muslim man will not generally shake hands with a female. Public displays of affection are frowned upon and considered disrespectful. Many of the women dress very elegantly in beautiful national costumes, even in their everyday lives, and the men wear long dresses mad of Kondura cotton. Head scarves and face-veils are worn by most of the females, both as a consideration to their religion and in order to tolerate the heat. The locals are very competitive and horse and camel races and cockfights are very popular; Dubai hosts the Horse Racing World Cup every year, a very prestigious race. Dubai is virtually crime-free and a place where tradition and progress and a more western culture have intermingled very harmoniously.

The Cuisine

The cuisine in Dubai is basically a combination of Lebanese and Syrian cuisines, and mezze, which is a variety of snacks served on a huge platter, is strongly featured on most menus. These snacks are a combination of hot and cold meat and veggies, salads, cheeses, savory sauces and dolma. Meat dishes are very popular, with game that has been baked on a spit being the traditional fare. A favorite meat dish is Makbus, which is roasted lamb flavored with various herbs and spices. Biryani is also a favorite meal, and consists of rice cooked with small pieces of meat, different sorts of fish and seafood, according to each particular restaurant’s own recipe. Fish dishes are also very popular and you will be spoiled for choice with the variety of delicacies and exotic food. Vegetarian dishes abound and are excellent. Desserts are generally some local fruit, and the meal is often ended off with wonderful aromatic Arabic coffee. We have daily departures to Dubai from various cities of India (Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Visakhapatnam (Vizag), Tirupati, Vijayawada, Kolkata, Pune, Chennai, Bangalore, Delhi, Goa, Cochin, Trivandrum/ Thiruvananthapuram, Pune, Nagpur, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Lucknow. )
