And together we shall explore this pretty city. Well there are two facets of the city – North Goa and South Goa. While North Goa is full of activity and lots of things happening, South Goa is a little quant and dainty. This is not all, you’ll find more about these myriad aspects of Goa, so get ready for an awesome journey. It’s time to tempt you, so what are you waiting for? You know the experience of Goa is best describes as ‘Love at first sight’. You’ll be wondering how? The swaying palms and the splashing waves take away all the worries. And you are left with eternal bliss. Together with your special someone or spending some quality time with your parents, Goa will never disappoint you. You have to be here to experience what I am talking about. The entire feel is so positive that you are filled with new energy! 2) Delicious Food: Goa-mango-dishYou have to agree that food is the most important part of any vacation. Well for many people it is. In fact, it is an important part of life itself. and when you are in Goa you’ll get plenty of delicious food to gorge upon. Be it the unending array of sea food or the cozy bakeries that offer delightful cakes and cookies, Goa is heaven for foodies, and otherwise also. I love the golden fried prawns. A good book, a plate full of yummy prawns and sipping on a cool mojito, life looks sorted! Okay come out of the fantasy world! The bakeries in north Goa are very homely and offer premium quality desserts that you just cannot miss. Also the best part about the restaurants and shacks is free Wi-Fi. Good food and free Wi-fi, what else can you ask for? 3) Fort Aguada: Fort-Aguada-goaI am a little biased towards Fort Aguada. It is beautiful and there are no second thoughts about it. In my couple of trips to Goa, I have never missed visiting Fort Aguada. The climb can be tedious for some, so I advise you wear walking shoes. But once you reach the top, the view is splendid. There is water till the horizon and the music of waves crashing on the shore takes you another world. 4) Pretty Sunsets at the beach: Taking about love and not talking about sunsets, how is this possible? Goa witnesses some of the most beautiful sunsets ever which are majorly viewed by honeymoon couples. Maybe it is there that we actually get the time to notice such things and admire the beauty of nature. By the beach when the sky turns orange and shades of crimson, it is a sight that you cannot miss. Don’t believe me, be there and see it for yourself! 5) South Goa: South-goaI personally prefer staying in South Goa over north Goa. It is quiet and you feel like you are tucked away in the wilderness. There is less crowd, so you can just sit back and relax. In other words, if you want to be away from the crowd and still enjoy Goa, south Goa is for you. Also a lot of adventure sports activities happen in this part of the city which you can enjoy. 6) Shopping: Shopping is and shall always be first love for many. For me also, a vacation is incomplete without some shopping. Souvenirs for friends and family, local food or just arty stuff, pick up whatever you like. I love exploring the flea markets. You get some great deals. Shoes, dresses and what not, Goa is a happy shopping place. Some of my favorite places to shop from in Goa are – Calangute beach market, Anjuna flea market (especially on Wednesdays) and of course Panjim City. From cashews to maxi dresses, shell jewelry to sarongs I have got them all. 7) Welcoming People: The locals of Goa are very warm and welcoming, which certainly adds to the overall holiday experience. They have so many interesting stories and anecdotes, that you can never be bored. The rich folklore tales to explanations about their culture and festivals!I distinctly remember when I was staying near Anjuna there is small shop that I used to visit to buy my daily needs. The lady and her dog – ‘Sandoz’ became like a routine for me. I used to spend so much time chit chatting with her and playing with Sandoz. Oh! nostalgia what have you done…. 8) Dudhsagar Falls: I cannot explain the grandeur and beauty of the falls in words. Once you reach, you are left speechless. It is beyond pretty and the gushing noise of water is tremendous. A must visit for everyone and totally recommended. 9) Casino: When in Goa, try your luck at the array of casinos. It is a great experience! Even if you don’t know how to play, just be there once to get that feel. Trust me it is different and enjoyable. 10) Churches: The last but certainly not the least, the oh! so pretty churches of Goa. They uphold a tradition dating back many centuries. The monuments are an example of the rich and vivid culture of the region, as a traveler we must respect them. There are so many churches, big and small. Visit as many of them; you never know when you’ll get a second chance. Also I recommend that you take a big suitcase to get back all the memories that would surely last a lifetime!
