Kanyakumari, the southernmost tip of India is well known for its virgin beaches, majestic hills, meandering rivulets and pristine rivers. It has fragrance of architecture and customs of Kerala mixed with deep traditions and cultures of Tamil Nadu. 1. Vivekananda Rock Memorial -

Built on the rock in the sea, this memorial contains strange foot carving believed to be that of deity “Devi Kumari”. The spirituality of this beautiful place can be experienced all around ranging from gentle swaying of clear water to the mandapam (meditation halls). Padmanabhapuram Palace, a unique palace made of wood will certainly hypnotize you with its remarkable architecture. Be its elegant Ayudha Shala, or magnificent Upparikka Malika, or breathtaking Mantrashala, the palace will compel you to stop at its windy verandas and wonder about its unmatched beauty. Timings: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM except Monday Entry fees: Rs. 10 per person for Adults and Rs.2 per person for Children

3. Thiruvalluvar Statue -

The 133 feet high majestic statue of Thiruvalluvar (a legendary Tamilian poet- philosopher) is something that should not be missed when you are in Kanyakumari. The statue has stairs from where you can enjoy the excellent view of the sea. Ferry services are also available to reach Thiruvalluvar Statue. Timings: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM daily Entry fees: Free

4. Kanyakumari Beach -

Kanyakumari Beach does not offer the opportunity to the tourists to sunbathe on golden soft sand or to play in the waves because the sea shore is rocky and dangerous. It has a lighthouse from where you can enjoy the panoramic view of the sea. The place is very popular for its distinctly stunning redish sunrise and sunset. 5. Mathoor Hanging Bridge -

Mathoor Hanging Bridge constructed across the river Pahraliis a famous tourist attraction in Kanyakumari. It is the tallest and longest hanging bridge in Asia with length about 1 km and height around 35.2 meters. It has a staircase from the top of the bridge to the bottom leading to view-tower and children’s park. From the top of the bridge visitors can enjoy the panoramic view of the Pahrail River and Western Ghats. Timings: 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM daily Entry fees: Rs. 2 per person

6. Suchindrum -

Suchindrum located on the bank of the river Pazhayar is a holy place. Located around 12 km away from Kanyakumari, Suchindrum is well known for the temple dedicated to Sri Sthanumalayan (Shiva, Brahma and Vishnu in one form). It is the place where Lord Indra attained purification (suchi). Timings: 6.00 AM to 9.00 PM Entry fees: Free
